Digital assets require careful review. A screenshot or a changed email address does not establish the full ownership history or guarantee future access.

Confirm exactly what is included

Separate the domain, website files, content rights, platform account and any services. Ask for a written inventory of deliverables and identify anything excluded from the order.

Check ownership and permitted transfers

Request appropriate evidence of ownership and check the platform’s current transfer requirements. If the proposed process is not permitted, do not proceed merely because changing an email address is technically possible.

Review history and performance evidence

For a website, review traffic sources, original content rights and revenue evidence. Ask about past policy issues and do not assume historical figures predict future results.

Distinguish website ownership from monetisation

A website handover does not automatically transfer all linked platform approvals. A new owner may face a separate review. Existing ad approval does not guarantee continuing ad serving or earnings.

Agree handover and support in writing

Record the timeline, official transfer steps, responsibilities, price and issue-resolution process before paying.
